A historical Red Bull Air Race took place in Russia sport’s capital: Kazan. Once again our Alpina watches ambassador displayed his pilot skills by delivering an outstanding performance and show at this year’s fifth race.
Goulian’s confident tactics worked in his favor as he states “I think this racetrack is one of those tracks where there’s a magical second: you can lose it or you can gain it with just a very small deviation from the line. This job today is about perfection.”
The Alpina Watches pilot consistency and composure advantaged him during this tight race. On the 8th round, Francois LeVot missed Goulian by a margin of 0.878 seconds. Within seconds of each other: Goulian, Chambliss, Velarde, and Sonka battled it out by 0.181 seconds.
What a ride it has been since the beginning of the year for Michael Goulian and Team 99. Kazan’s RBAR thrilling race marks Goulian’s fourth podium holding a historical record during the 2018 series by advancing to the Final 4 all out of five races. Goulian leads at the top of the overall rankings in the World Championships with a total of 55 points.
Goulian states “We are going to try to keep winning. This is not a time to play defense. We will just keep our foot on the gas and try to be consistent. When the opportunity to win arises, we will take it.”
On behalf of Alpina watches we would like to congratulate our ambassador on his constant outstanding and ongoing performances. We can’t wait for the next race at an all-new location in Wiener Neustadt, Austria.
